DNA? AND? is a musical free-improv collective where special kids and professional musicians play together and create and explore their own music based on their own specialities. This exploration is often not based on rationality, technique or notation. Instead genuine musical qualities as prescence, timing and energy are often to be recognized.
DNA? AND? is Oslo-based, and has existed since 2013, with frequent workshops and gigging. They have played at the All Ears- and Blow Out festivals in Oslo, Sonic Protest in Paris and Le Guess Who in Utrecht, and have collaborated with legendary musicians like NU Unruh (Einstürtzende Neubauten), Hans Magnus Ryan (Motorpsycho), Guro Moe & Håvard Skaset (MoE) and Hamid Drake (Herbie Hancock).
DNA? AND? lets people meet through music across borders of normalities, contributes to tear down the walls between those who have- and those who lack disabilities, and make everyone understand that not only can the youngsters learn something from us. We can also learn from them.
The current members of DNA? AND? are Vilde Erikstad, Vilja Ellefsen-Larsen, Zelda Røineberg, Lene Høie, Sambou Samateh, Isaaq Ibrahim, Ola Skarsæterhagen, Mats Aase Henriksen, Johannes Tjøtta Svendsen and Jostein Hylin as well as Sara Li Stensrud, Bjarne Larsen, Stina Moltu, Harald Fetveit and Anla Courtis.
