Tilla’s curiosity for music started as a small child, playing the piano and digging through her parents vinyl connection. Her obsession for discovering deep cuts and meshing together contrasting sounds has shaped her DJing style, making her a staple in the Oslo scene with over 100 yearly gigs under her belt. That same curiosity has influenced her as a songwriter and producer, unafraid to reference while simultaneously exploring new techniques. Her debut single “Slow” was highlighted by renowned journalist Audun Vinger as “single of the week” in Jazznytt/DN calling it “Jazzy R&B with a touch of psychedelic dream pop”. Now she is prepared to release a debut album of original songs, all made distinct by her honest lyrics, intimate production and deep resounding vocals.
Her collaboration «Low» with Jerry Folk on his Spellemann Nominated album “Dotted Red” was released and listed on major Spotify editorial lists like “Friday Cratediggers’’ and “Space Disco’’ and played internationally by Triple J. In February 2022 she released the collaboration “Trails’’ with the artist Alex & The Alpaca. Along with her friends in the creative collective One Kin, Tilla released her first music video and was featured on blogs like Ballade and Lefuturewave. She followed up the release of “Trails” with an acoustic performance and video.
Tilla was recently picked up by Katapult(MØST), and is currently receiving mentorship from Norwegian artist Gundelach. She is set to release two singles before the summer, with «Doomed» first in line on the 6th of May, followed up by «Expensive Metals» in June. The album «1822» is planned for release in November, and is made up of songs that Tilla wrote from age 18 to 22. The album explores themes of love, abandonment, escapism and ambitions. It begins in a place in Tilla’s life where she depended greatly on others, and ends with a reclaiming of power and sovereignity.
